This large desert fort was built by David
in the days before foamcore. The material is illustration board, and very
tough illustration board it was, too. This method is not recommended.
The base is double-corrugated cardboard, 12" square, with a coat of paint mixed with dirt.

A detail view showing the entrance and balcony of the administration building.
Roofs and interior floors are cut from Heritage's printed cardboard Dungeon
Floors tiles (long out of production). Tabs (as at lower right) allow roofs
to be lifted out, though each tower and wall section can be lifted off the
base.

All buildings lift or come apart for interior play, though in all these
years, this feature has seldom, if ever, been used. Here, the main building's
roof is shown removed, to display the upper interior floor and head of the
staircase. The entire building lifts for access to the ground floor.
To see individual elements of the fort used in a game, see The
Residency at Biltezi battle page.
Figures are small 25s from Ral Partha, painted by Max.
