Miscellaneous Structures
for Colonial Gaming

The roof can be set at either of two levels. It is shown at high level above and pushed down to the lower level in the back view at right.

Built by David. Figures are large 25s.

The Fortified Tower
This grand little tower came from Pressman's marvellous Weapons and Warriors Pirate Playset. It is pretty much as it came from the box, except for painting. The body was sprayed with Testors' Afrika Mustard and painted with craft acrylics. The exposed mud-brick sections were washed and drybrushed, and the cracks emphasized with dark paint and a bright highlight on the underside. The brown door and roof were given a drybrush of grey, and a bit of tan.

You can see the tower in play in New Year's Action at Point Wytouki.

The Tombs
The tombs are created with plastic construction blocks made by the Spanish firm of Exin and marketed as part of the Castillos (Castles) line. The original block design was a beautiful veined buff color. Some later sets were made with dreary grey blocks. The buff blocks are very good for native houses and other structures, and are now available again from Victorian Treasures & Toys.

The archaeologists' tent is simply a rectangle of brown wrapping paper folded over.

Built by David. Figures are large 25s.

The Lost Galambosian Mine
The mine building and smokestack are made of medium cardboard printed with a stone pattern. The roof is Walthers' Building Paper --Green Shingles (a model railroad product). The tipple and minehead frame are balsa wood.

Built by David. Figure is a small 25.
